Events and Traditions

Every October clubbers take to Eddie Smith Field House, the UNC indoor track, for a fun costumed relay race! Teams will be randomized by the officer board, and you are strongly encouraged to coordinate costumes with your team. The best team costume wins a prize!

February is the season of love and to celebrate the season you’ll be matched with a fellow club member by the officer board for another costumed race! We will meet in the normal place and run down to the k loop located around the UNC outdoor track together for the race. Once again, the best costume wins a prize!

When the weather is warm, Club hosts runs to the YOPO Frozen Yogurt shop on Franklin Street. Clubbers take a variety of routes, and some people take the opportunity for an afternoon stroll, so you will be able to find the perfect travel companions for your pace!

When the weather is not so warm, Club travels up to Hillsborough for the annual ice skating night. Despite the many falls, this is always one of the most popular events of the year.

As the Spring semester winds to a close, clubbers make the 8.5 mile trek up to Maple View Farm for some delicious ice cream.

Formal takes place in November or December, following a successful cross country season. It is a time to recognize and celebrate the seniors on the club, present awards, and announce the new officer board.

We usually host two pasta dinners per semester. They are the night before races, but anyone is welcome!
