Dearest Clubbers,
The temperature cools, and the legs start to freshen up. The cool fall breeze sweeps across our beautiful campus, promising sweater weather and pumpkin-flavored delicacies. But wait. Is it real? Is this just a trick to raise my hopes? Will it once more return to the blistering heat of the summer? Only time will tell.
Recapping our week, we had a lovely Yopo run and frisbee + soccer on Friday! Dues-paying members have started flooding in in preparation for our first meet at App State in two weeks, and WORRY NOT! I will be bringing shirts this Thursday to both regular practice and the indoor track.
Here are a few announcements
- Signups are open for the App State Meet! This will be a 5K start to the season, so you’ll get to judge yourself based on your high school standards. How fun
- Signups are now open for the HOME MEET! Don’t want to travel? Try out our home meet in our very own Carolina North Forest! This is usually our most well-attended event of the year, and we’d love to have as many members as possible come to show out.
- WOOLEN WEIGHT ROOM 2-3:15 TODAY. I’ll see you there.
Other than that, I would like to say best of luck to all teams competing in the Blue Ridge Relay this weekend. For those who don’t know, Blue Ridge is a 204-mile relay race that takes approximately 27 hours and starts in Headlands State Park, VA, and ends in Asheville, NC. It is a grueling race up and down the mountains, and I sincerely hope all 3 teams come out the other end injury-free.
Love,
