And so, my dearest clubbers, the cycle begins anew.
WHAT A FIRST WEEK! We had a phenomenal turnout this week for practice and some bonkers performances at the ATT this weekend for our first long run. I’ve been getting a lot of questions about races this year, so let’s jump into some info and announcements.
Racing and Dues
In order to compete in races, we ask that you pay dues! Dues are $50 to @unclubxc on Venmo, or you can hand cash to Ishan or me. Be sure to include your name, onyen, year, and shirt size.
Paying dues will give you entry to all races, a dope shirt, and NEW this year, an invitation to Team Media Day (more details soon). Given our current budget situation, we will also be able to pay for hotels for those who come to our further away meets.
Jerseys are rented out for each race and are expected to be returned at the end of each race, so I can wash them and prepare for the next race. Jerseys are also for sale for 70 dollars.
If you are hesitant to race this year, there is still a reason to pay dues! The Tar Heel 10, UNC’s very own massive road race, occurs every year in April. If you complete 2 service credits with club, such as Habitat for Humanity, Basketball volunteering, and football volunteering, we will pay for your Tar Heel 10 race registration (which would normally cost at least $75).
To compete in races, you must be registered on DSE. This is super easy, just look up DSE UNC, and the link for it will pop up. I trust you will figure it out from there.
If you are planning on helping to drive to races, first of all, thank you, thank you, thank you. This club could not possibly exist without you, and your service is greatly appreciated. Make sure to register on DSE as a driver and input your information (kind of a pain, I know), but we can get into trouble if we allow non-registered drivers to drive to races.
