- Frodo Baggins (and probably some of you)
Well, guess what, nerds? A wizard is never late.
In all seriousness though, if this is your first clemail, welcome to this mailing list! Typically, these emails will roll out Sunday evening, however, Sunday rolled me out, so here it is.
First off, our updates for the week:
- We will be doing a YOPO RUN/WALK TOMORROW, Tuesday August 27th. Bring a shirt, some money, and a desire for some of the best froyo in the area. Tomorrow (and the rest of the week) will bring the heat
. We’ll be getting to YOPO via one of four ways – a direct walking group, a 3-mile group via Carrboro, and a 4- and 5-mile group via Carrboro. If you haven’t been to YOPO now, here’s a great chance. - We will be spending the rest of the week doing easy runs as we did last week, however, on Wednesday, those who wish will have the option of doing our first group workout. It’ll be a chill session of hill repeats on Laurel, a calm way to ease back into that type of work. We will still have a group doing an easy run, so do not fret if you are sane and have no desire to run hills.
- We will not be doing a long run this weekend. Everyone who can go home, do it. Get some time with your family, rest up, and see the dog. If you’re staying in town, rest up and take the time to explore the area. These first few months of college are seriously stressful and you need the time to relax. Take it!!! I will personally be going to see this madlad (Nuclear Missile Silo the Cat).

DUES INFORMATION:
- Linked below is a comprehensive set of questions about dues. However, I want to make clear the main takeaways:
- You do NOT have to pay dues if you just wish to come and run for fun – you only have to pay dues if you want to race. If you are interested in racing, go ahead and read the below. We will begin collecting dues starting today. Also, you can pay whenever if you change your mind down the line
(Or if I convince you to do so) - Racing is incredibly low stress. You can run one, run all, or just get a shirt and never race. I personally think if you are on the fence, its worth a shot. It’s like all the good parts of high school XC and Track without all the stress of having your coach, parents, and teammates expecting you to do well.
- Dues this year have been lowered to $50. With this, you get a shirt and a ton of races. Anything else you may want to know, including how to pay, can be found in the link below!!! (Thank you Ishan for putting it together).

I think that’s all for me tonight, folks. You all get some good rest and take care of yourselves. I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow for some frozen yogurt!!!!
