Run clubbers,

Happy graduation day!  Whether or not you are here for another year (or 3 or 4), I’d like to start by saying thank you so much for making this past year awesome.  I met some genuinely amazing people over the last 2 seasons due to this club and I’d like to thank each and every one of you for making life so much better.  You are all my family and I love you all (even Rand).  To the seniors – you guys have no idea how much you all have meant to me and this club over the last few years.  You all are a fantastic bunch.  I’m glad to have gotten to know all of you, especially including the three of you that are my housemates.  You’ve guys have made waking up each morning just that much happier.  I’m looking forward to seeing you guys walk to stage tonight (although it’s bittersweet).  And to those returning, I can’t wait to see you all next year so we can make more moments like this:

We’ve got some super important announcements so off with those:

1. We’ve decided to make the name change back to UNC Club Cross Country/Track and Field (XCTF).  With our growing team on the track, we decided it would best align with our current group and mission.  We spoke to some of the exec board at Virginia Tech and they explained how the name change resulted in a pretty drastic increase in numbers – and at the end of the day, getting more people running is the dream.  HOWEVER, at our core, we’ll still be the same group of people doing the same thing.  In other words, we aren’t changing who we are… just rocking a fresh new name.  
2. New GroupMe!!! Linked below is the new GroupMe for the upcoming year.  Please add yourself to it and send the link to any friends interested in running next fall.  Now is the best time for recruitment (to get them before marathon team has a chance ) (sarcastically speaking).

3. We’ve now got an Alumni GroupMe and listserv.  Our idea here is to shoot out monthly emails with updates to alumni of the club.  You guys have meant so much to this club and it wouldn’t have been possible without you… so we wanted to have a way to keep you all in the loop.  The link to the GroupMe will follow, and if you want to be added to the listserv, shoot VP Abbey McKee a DM on GroupMe.

4. We are currently working on designing singlets for next fall.  The current plan is to order a set for the team, then do a pre-order of them for you all to keep.  You must pre-order one if you wish to keep it.  Otherwise, we won’t be able to guarantee you one to keep.  We will send out designs, cost info, and anything else relevant as soon as we know more information.  Hoping the folks at BSN can get us a good rate.  

With that, I will be signing off for the summer.  I had like 293589 photos to put at the end, but listserv says it makes the email too big… so… you’ll just have to go through the google photos yourselves.  Thank you all one last time for an amazing year.  I can’t wait to see you all next year for some absolutely awesome stuff (we’ve been working on a killer plan for next year).  HAGS and stay cool!!!
