Folks, I was lucky enough to sit in yesterday evening and witness the chest x-ray of two of our fine clubbers, none other than Miss Abbey McKee and Mister Andrew Zmijewski. And to the surprise of me and the radiologist… their x-rays came back the exact same. I’ll show you all the photo below.

As it will turn out… THEY HAD THAT DAWG IN THEM (EAGLE EMOJI)!!!!!!! We had some clubbers head down to Myrtle Beach this weekend and throw down some seriously awesome times, including a winning time for Abbey and a men’s 20-24 age group sweep. We also saw Mr. David Go (go) sub 3-hr in his first ever marathon. Great stuff guys!!!!
As for this week’s announcements:
- Practice will be starting at 5pm once again. Same place, different time. With the sun setting later and later it was decided that it was about time to move back practice.
- If you are a dues-paying member planning to attend either NIRCA Half Marathon or Track and Field nationals, please fill out the RSVP form in the Dues-Paying GroupMe. We have had to adjust some plans and we need this filled out by Saturday 3/9 at 11:59. Failure to do this will result in you not being guaranteed a spot at nationals. We also are in a tight spot in terms of drivers, so if you have the ability to drive, please sign up to do so. You can and will be reimbursed for gas. Any additional info is in the dues-paying GroupMe.
- As per usual, we will have the indoor track at Eddie Smith on Monday from 7-9pm and the outdoor track at Finley from 6-8pm Wednesday. Likewise, we will have the Woolen weight room at 8:15pm on Monday and Wednesday. Workouts for this week are posted in the GroupMe.
Also, take a look at the attached finalized spring schedule (thank you to Evan for creating it
). And remind yourself to hop on those Tar Heel 10 service credits if you still need your two!

Lastly, I wanted to say that if anyone is ever feeling uncomfortable or generally unhappy with anything within club channels to please fill out the anonymous feedback form found on our website. We do keep an eye on the responses and want to put our best foot forward in keeping the club a safe and welcoming environment, and the more we know the better we can work to do that… so feel absolutely okay to go into as much detail as you may feel is necessary. Even just anything you’d like to see to improve the club is welcome feedback. Likewise, if anyone is interested in becoming a dues-paying member but is struggling with the financial end of that, we have a confidential form pinned in the GroupMe where we can support you there.
Looking forward to seeing all of your smiling faces at 5pm tomorrow!
