Races, races, and MORE RACES!!!!

Eh em… EH EM…

May I have your attention please?

No?  Okay, well…

GOOD EVENING, FOLKS!!!! On behalf of all the officers of the run club, I present to you some absolutely awesome announcements to kick off the third week of January.

First and foremost: we have our first race coming up this weekend!  Dick Taylor, UNC’s very own home meet will be taking place this Saturday in the Eddie Smith Field House.  Big stuff!  If you haven’t signed up to race yet… well… signups are closed and you’re out of luck. BUT we have a great opportunity to volunteer and get one of those pesky service credits needed for Tar Heel Ten reimbursement.  The signup for that is in the GroupMe.  (Please do it, this one is super easy and super fun and you will likely get free food (don’t hold it against me if you don’t)).

If you wanted to race and missed signups, or simply did not feel ready to compete yet, we’ve got a lot on the docket.  SC Evan prepared a great graphic for you all with all of our plannedwinter meet dates.

We’ve got more planned later on in the semester, but this is most likely going to cover the majority of our “winter track” (and KD) races.  We’ve got a ton of races for you guys to choose from and even have a Thursday night race (Feb 8) so that you can relive your glory days of high school.  Truthfully though, PRing in one of these Bad Larrys would definitely help with securing more of the “Jack Harlow in Industry Baby verse” archetype and less of the “whoops I peaked in spring track Junior year of high school” form.

Speaking of which!!! You all wanted group workouts and BOOM; we’ve got ’em!  We’ve got training plans for this week.  And the week after that.  And for THE WHOLE SEMESTER.  Attached are group workouts for Mid-Distance and Distance groups for this week (in order top to bottom).

Lastly!  Thank you to everyone who came and ate pizza with us at practice Friday.  We look forward to doing more of these “social events” with everyone soon.  We’ve got a lot on the docket, including Ice-Skating, pasta, and whatever else we manage to find time for in this busy semester.

Now, I wish all of you guys a great second week back and remind you all to check in on your STEM friends (they’re probably already passed out on the 3rd floor of Davis).  Take care!
